The rugged Adventurers who fish these waters are the real draw. Crabbers have the mindset of pirates - high risk for high reward - and putting life and limb on the line is just part of the job.

The crabbing season kicks off in October. Captain Sig Hansen, a 30-year veteran and a third generation fisherman, will match his skills against his old rivals, Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, the Hillstrand brothers of the Time Bandit, and Captain Keith Colburn of the Wizard. The fleet will push hundreds of miles out to sea and fish four hundred feet deep in search of the prized crustaceans.
